Blackpool was one of a number of clubs drawn into last season's League One relegation battle, but managed to finish three points and two places above the bottom four.

It's been an exciting summer at Bloomfield Road with the news that the Latvian millionaire Valeri Belokon has concluded an agreement to buy shares in the club. Belokon said he would invest a significant amount, believed to be £ 5 million at the League One struggle. Belokon wants to be club president, the current chairman Karl Oyston remaining in his role. The Latvian other business interests include a bank, brewery, newspaper, TV station, fish processing, a travel agency, the Baltic Institute for Strategic Studies and a golf school.

But players come to the club has not been nearly as glamorous. Livingston left back Paul Tierney agreed a two-year contract after his free transfer from Scottish First Division side.

Former Crewe Alexandra center back Michael Jackson arrived on a free transfer from Tranmere Rovers and return to Lancashire following spells at Presto North End and Bury. Swansea City winger Adrian Forbes signed a two-year contract following his release from the Liberty Stadium.

Highly rated goalkeeper Les Pogliacomi back to Oldham Athletic after being released by Blackpool at the end of last season. The Tangerines have replaced him with Rhys Evans from Swindon Town and has also veteran Lee Jones to call.

Dom
The bookmakers make Blackpool one of their top eight favorites to win the division next season. Who are they trying to fool? The club has slipped down the division gradually over the last three seasons and will be happy not to slip into the bottom four.
