This link will take you to the Bass resource web site, with all the clubs in New Jersey for you to check out. Keep in mind though, that clubs are all different. Some are clubs that the members will teach you, and help you in any way possible. Other clubs are not at all like that. The members are serious anglers, and are only there for themselves, working to make the ranks. Go through the list of clubs, find one close to you, and contact the club president. Here are a few questions that you could ask him. 1. What type of tourneys does the club fish? Some tourneys like the FLW, and B.A.S.S. tourneys require an entry fee, and usually it’s about $100 dollars at the cheapest, that is per boat, so you’d pay $50+co-angler fee. 2. Do the club members help each other out, as far as lure selection, presentation, color, etc.. The club I belong to is a good bunch of guys. If my co-angler doesn’t have a certain color tube that is killing the bass, I’ll give him a couple, so he can catch some fish too. 3. Are there any club dues? Our club is $300.00 per year. The money goes to club equipment, scales, weigh bags, and cash payouts at our club classic. If the president is a good guy, and well versed, he will answer all these questions before you have a chance to ask. Check out Bass Resource, and sign up for the forums. Those guys will help you out with every single thing you could possibly ever want to know about Bass fishing. I have the same user name on that forum too. Don’t tell anyone I said so, but 99% of the people on Answers are rather incompetent, and can’t even touch base on most of the questions that they think they are answering. Good luck on the club search, and I’ll see you in the Bass Resource forums. Tight lines
