Why does my femail puppy smell like fish?
I have a 10 month old hound mix puppy that every once in a while smells like fish. When she gets up from the chair or floor, where she was sitting smells ungodly. It is almost like (as gross as this sound) a discharge of some sort from her nether regions! She is fixed, and has been since a very young age…has anyone had this happen with their female puppies? Is this normal?
Her anal glands (located on either side of her anus) are probably leaking.
Take her to the vet to make sure theyre not infected.
Edit:If you actually researched anal glands you would find that the scent and discharge is probably from her anal glands. It happens with both male and female puppies and dogs.
