I purchased a red tailed leather jacket 48 hours ago?
It has not come out of the rocks and I don’t know if it is feeding.
But I do know it is still alive are they a shy fish will it ever come out.

All fish can take up to, and even over, a week to completely settle into a tank. Don’t harass your fish and let it settle in to it’s new surroundings. Think of it like the new kid at school, it will be shy until it settles in.
These are the most bold of fish, so yes they are shy, you’ll just have to be patient with it, especially if you have anything bolshy in the tank with it that may scare it into hiding anyway.
