It depends on where the catfish come from actually. Some places catfish is certainly, in others it is just not worth even considering. It is a time when farm raised fish is safest choice. Mercury levels in catfish and trout caught wild can make them a real danger to your health, while farm raised fish are raised in specially designed ponds and the food is control. If you wish to eat catfish you caught, you would do best to check with your local fish and wildlife department and health department to find out whether the local fish considered as safe to eat.
