How do I get my cat to * run * on playing time, instead of just sit there and watch?
We prefer her toys around, we have a fishing rod and a laser and other toys but she just sits there and watches, unless it comes close enough to get. She is healthy and still young, but really lazy and I would love it if I could convince her to take a more active role in the game. How do I do?
A lot of the things that a cat makes depends on her personality and you can not be able to change it:) But there are a few things you can try to engage her more. I have met many cats who have very specific toys preferences and they only get excited about that one type of toy. So try long chords (do not use yarn – which can cause digestive problems if they ingest any), try to tie pieces of cloth in the fuzzy end of the chord, balls, small fuzzy mice (my cat's favorite -! can get for $ 0.99 at a pet store) rattling things, catnip (not all cats have an answer – but if yours does, it is a good way to get her active.) It appears that you've got a good start, but worry not and be creative! Some cats love weird things like balls of aluminum foil. Good luck, and good job for being so interested in keeping your kitten healthy and Happy! A last resort and only if you are really capable, another cat be good to engage your kitty. But remember that this should only be a last resort and you should be committed to the success of this new critter even if your current Kitty decides she does not like the new addition. However, a friend often get a cat moves and play more, even when you're not around.
