How can I make fishing rod holders?

I recently got some from my grandfather who died and he spent some types of pipes and cement. I want to do some more any ideas?

PVC pipes are properly you'd like to use something around 1.5 inches in diameter or larger. (Just big enough to handle on your rod fits tightly with little trouble integrating into tubes) If you plan to use for bank fishing, I would recommend beveling one end so it will be very easy to insert into the ground.
