Need advice / tips with a survival situation!?
Coming up in a few months (this summer), I plan to try to survive North Carolina mountains for five to seven days. I have minimal experience camping / hiking, so I come to you for help. As far as gear goes I plan to bring: – Backpack – Striker fires – Axe / small knife – Fold-able bucket – rope / cord – Tarp – Collapsible pot (they make those?) – Metal rack (like those on the grill) – MRE packages for use only in emergencies – Flash light? Still undecided if I will bring a small tent and a fishing rod, would like to try to build my own shelter and would like see if I can grab food without a fishing pole. Is there anything I left that may be needed? Any tips on what the discovery of food, I should look for? My father suggested crawl fish. Any other tips hints you might have to be very appreciated. Thanks!
