Homemade clamp style rod holders?

Anyone have plans for how to build some clamp-style fishing rod holders for a pontoon boat? I've thought me to fish with a few other people on a borrowed boat and can not drill to attach anything. I need at least 4 so buying them would be out of my budget now and plus I like to build things themselves.

If you go get some 1 1 / 2 "PVC and say 4 to 45 degrees angle fittings and four" C "clamps. Cut a tubing about 12 "and glue on a 45 degrees. Then cut a piece of pipe about 6" and glue it in the 45 degrees. Next, take a hacksaw and cut around 4 "from the end of the short end in half and about the same for long piece. Use the" C "Clamp to secure the smaller end into the side, which is more than likely will be square tubbing. The clamp will go where you cut tubbing in half, and it will keep just fine. You may use a plastic soda bottle cap against the railing and put end of the clip inside the lid to keep from marring the railing with clamp.
