Beach fishing, you cast out and retrieve slowly or cast off and leave the hook and sinker static for a while?

Or you can do both, which is best? I have a simple 1 hook rig with a 5 oz lead to casting off the beach I've been casting, and leave the rig sits on the seabed in 30 minutes so far, as discounts and re-casting.

You can do both depending on the fish you want to test for or think will be in the area. I use mainly breakaway regions weights as they have better position in a stronger tide. Try to get a peek at the beach your going to fish at low tide and make a mental note of any gaps functions, and where they are for keeping the fish when the tide is in.
