Some ideas for a fishing permit vacation?

I am new to fishing, and I do not know what to buy to start a tackle box. I know I need for a fishing rod and bait, but that is all. What do you put on your fishing trips? Is Alaska the best place in the United States to fish? How to start a tackle box, and what do you include in it? What is the best rod out? Give a crash course on fishing and what is the best place to go on a fishing trip. When it comes to the equipment I want the best and are willing to pay for the best. I do not know the difference between saltwater and freshwater necessary equipment. I want to surprise my boyfriend who is hectic about fishing (and hunting). Your advice and help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wow, this is a very vague question. I'm gonna try to make this response as short as possible because you may have to repost this question again (a little more detail). Here goes … 1st Determine if your going to go fresh or saltwater, or your gonna spend a lot of money. Not all gears are interchangeable. 2nd Find out what species of fish you will after. This will determine the size of your gear. 3rd Where are you going to fish? Beach, coastal, lake, ocean, boat, etc. In addition to a rod and reels, you will probably need a chair, net, hook remover, line cutter, beer / wine, etc. Also, ask yourself whether you have enough patience for this sport. This could go on and on. Good Luck
