fishing texas rig

Carolina rig vs. Texas rig; Whats the difference and/or advantage of fishing one over the other.?
Basically the difference is this. The Texas rig is fished on the fall and then fished with a series of raised rod tips and letting the rig drop to the bottom again. Or a series of short hops on the bottom. The Carolina rig allows the worm to float a foot or so above the bottom making it more visible to fish and perhaps above the grass on the bottom. It can be fished much slower then the Texas rig. There are times the fish will prefer one method over the other even when the conditions and bottom are the same. The Texas rig is my first preference when fishing. But if I suspect fish are holding in a certain area and are not hitting my Texas rig fast enough or at all, I will switch to the Carolina rig and try it.There are times when the action picks up greatly when the switch is made. And times it will produce less.So you have to let the fish decide which they prefer on a certain day.
