What are some special body features of a tripod fish, what does it eat, who eats it, what zone does it live in, what kind of habitat does it live in, and what is the shape or color of the tripod fish. Quickest and most informatic answer will get 10 points.
Greg left out one of the more intersting facts about them – each fish has both male and female organs, so finding a mate means just finding another fish of the same species – it doesn’t need to be a “male” or a “female”. Considering these fish live live deep in the ocean, and aren’t found in high numbers, that can be an advantage to them. And unlike most organisms that are both male and female, the tripodfish is able to fertilize it’s own eggs if it doesn’t find another fish to mate with. This could be “good” for continuation of the species, but if the fish has any genetic abnormalities, there’s a better chance these would be passed on to the next generation.
