Here is a checklist for clothes (and other related topics), use it as inspiration and create your own:

Underwear

Socks

Chest Holder

Get a sports bra for the bumpy rides.

T-Shirts

Pants

Get pants with big front pockets where you can put a large bottle of water. Make sure that some pockets have zippers to keep things fall out.

Belt

Shirts

Pullover

Jackets

Hat

Get a hat with a shade that protects the entire head from the sun.

Gloves

Finger gloves are very useful.

Sandals / flip flops

Trekking shoes

If they are new, you should break them before you leave so you do not start your journey with blisters.

Other shoes

You may want to bring some other types of shoes along. If you want to get into a disco or club may need to have a nice pair of shoes.

Shorts

Bathe tropics

Check what is appropriate. Maybe you need to get a conservative swimsuit.

Towels

Bring a towel for the beach and a second for use in the shower (unless you want to dry yourself in salt, sand and who knows what else).

Sarong

Can be used as blanket, pillow, skirt, sun or twice a beach towel. Avoid the green color if you want to use your towel while trekking, green attracts insects (which I learned the hard way in northern Thailand.)

Rain protection

Umbrella / rain gear. An umbrella is also used as protection against strong sunlight. A rain poncho can be used to cover your backpack and yourself.

Sunglasses / Clip-ons

Bring a hard plastic case to put your sunglasses in for protection when not in use. I've lost too many pairs of the meeting on them to step on them or drop them on the floor:)

Clothes Hanger

To hang up your clothes when they becomes wet.

Clothes line and pin

To hang clothes to dry.

Pillowcases

Bring along a pillow case if you have pillow issue (which may be quite understandable in view of the hygiene standards in some parts of the world). To avoid completely pillow you can create your own pillow by stuffing your pillow with clothing such as sweaters.

Sleeping bag or sleeping sheet

For to keep warm on cold nights or when there is plenty of air conditioning. If you have doubts about hygiene standards in your shelter a silk sleeping sheet can be helpful.

Suit / formal dress

Not that I ever backpacked with one, but I guess if you plan to go to a wedding or something. If you are games, some casinos have a formal dress code.

Odor Absorber

The odor absorber is based on minerals and is able to absorb strong odors. Put it in your backpack.

Happy holidays!
