How do I properly get fine reduced for boating regulation in wisconsin. (floatation devices)?
I just got a boat for first time and am new to boating. I thought you need one floatation device for each passenger. I have 2 jackets and one throwable. three guys on boat.
After fishing a wisconsin Department of natural resources warden pretty much singled us out out of 6 boats. Measured our fish, checked licenses and registration. seemed excited when he discovered I did not have a third wearable life vest.
Wrote me a 162.50 ticket-25$ fine $137.50 in court costs!!!. I pleaded for leniency due to job layoff and low cash at the moment. He said he has to issue ticket…… But offered that if i go to court or write in and request for reduced fines due to poverty etc. He also mentioned he would understand, and not fight it..
What is the proper way to request reduced costs?
If you have time and money for boating/fishing, you’ve got got time to learn the regs and money for the fine. Most lessons come with a price tag.
