Smallmouth Bass Facts – Great Tips to catch them

This fish is commonly known as the hardest fighting fish pound for pound that swims in freshwater, with good reason. If you have never had the pleasure of the hull in three to five pound smallmouth bass, put it on top of your list. Connecting to a smallmouth this size is as fun as can be had with your clothes on. For this article I will discuss some fishing tips that are helpful when fishing for smallmouth bass in flowing water in rivers and streams.

Prior to the entry on your smallmouth fishing expedition it is better that you first understand their characteristics are smallmouth bass usually bronze to brownish green color. Smallmouth tend to be more active in cold water that makes the early spring the perfect time for fishing.The way to set your The rig is this: start by grabbing the end of your line and attach a small barrel swivel (size 10 or 12). Now submit a pre-tied set of gang hooks in the opposite end of the barrel swivel. The goal is to have your offer bounce off the bottom as it flows naturally with the current, then add a couple of split shot sinkers to your line of your barrel swivel for weight.
