Flasher or Underwater camera?
I can either get a flasher or an underwater camera, what would be more helpful? Also can flasher be used for open water fishing, not just ice fishing?
A flasher can be used both ways. It will pick up fish, baitfish schools and underwater grass (seaweed) and register these on the screen.
A camera is limited to what it can pick up in the viewfinder and how cloudy the water conditions are in the area. If you do choose the camera get one that can operate remotely otherwise you will be restricted by the tether. I have found this out during some filmwork we were trying to shoot with the tethered u/w camera we bought.
